Every October, the world turns its focus toward the importance of eye health. World Sight Day, held annually on the second Thursday of October, is a global initiative shining a vital spotlight on vision care. In 2025, that day falls on Thursday, October 9th.

This observance was originally launched by the Lions Club International Foundation through its SightFirst initiative in 2000 and is now championed by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
