Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of permanent vision loss, but with early diagnosis and modern treatment, it can often be managed successfully. Because glaucoma usually develops without noticeable symptoms in its early stages, routine comprehensive eye exams are essential for protecting your vision.
At Paragon Eye Associates, we provide comprehensive glaucoma evaluations and personalized treatment plans based on the stage of your condition. Our goal is to lower eye pressure, preserve your optic nerve, and help you maintain healthy vision for years to come.

When is Glaucoma Surgery Recommended?
Surgical treatment may be recommended when:
- Eye pressure remains elevated despite medications.
- Multiple glaucoma medications are required to control the disease.
- Daily eye drops are difficult to use consistently.
- Progressive optic nerve damage or vision loss continues despite treatment.
- Glaucoma treatment can be combined with cataract surgery.
Our specialists will perform a thorough evaluation and discuss all available treatment options to determine the approach that best fits your condition and lifestyle.
Glaucoma Treatment Options
Every patient is different, which is why we offer a range of advanced glaucoma treatments designed to effectively manage intraocular pressure.
iDose® TR
For patients who require long-term pressure control, iDose TR is an innovative, FDA-approved implant that continuously delivers glaucoma medication from within the eye. Unlike daily eye drops, iDose TR provides sustained medication delivery for an extended period, helping reduce the burden of remembering daily treatments while maintaining consistent intraocular pressure control. It is implanted during a minimally invasive procedure and may decrease or eliminate the need for prescription eye drops for many patients.
Prescription Eye Drops
For many patients, medicated eye drops are the first line of treatment. These medications help reduce the amount of fluid your eye produces or improve its natural drainage, lowering pressure inside the eye.
Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery in Arlington and Mansfield, Texas
Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) is an advanced surgical option for patients with mild to moderate glaucoma who need additional pressure reduction beyond medications alone. Compared to traditional glaucoma surgery, MIGS uses microscopic instruments and tiny incisions, offering a safer approach with quicker recovery and fewer complications.
One of the most common MIGS procedures we perform is the iStent®, one of the world’s smallest implanted medical devices. The iStent creates a permanent pathway that improves the eye’s natural drainage system, helping lower intraocular pressure while reducing reliance on glaucoma medications. For many patients undergoing cataract surgery, an iStent can often be implanted during the same procedure.
Depending on your individual needs, your ophthalmologist will determine whether iStent or another MIGS procedure is the most appropriate treatment.
