Board-Certified Ophthalmologist
Dr. Todd Ford is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in Advanced Cataract Laser and Implant Surgery, Glaucoma Surgery, and Laser Vision Correction and has served the residents of Arlington/Mansfield and the greater DFW area for 20 years.
Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Dr. Ford graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He earned his medical doctorate, graduating with honors from LSU Medical School New Orleans, and finished his internship at the Alton Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, LA. He completed his ophthalmology training at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas and served as chief resident at Parkland Hospital during his residency. Dr. Ford participated in numerous clinical studies while at UT-Southwestern and published several articles on cataract surgery and glaucoma.
Dr. Ford came to Arlington in 1998 where he joined the practice of Dr. Calvin McKaig and Dr. Brad Davis who together had started Arlington Ophthalmology Clinic in 1968. Dr. Ford was entrusted by Drs. McKaig and Davis the following year to take over their practice and carry on the tradition of excellence in eye surgery and patient care. Over the years Dr. Ford has made it his sole intention to operate on and treat each and every patient as he would his own family. It is with that dedication, compassion, and commitment that has led him and Paragon Eye Associates (previously known as: Ford Eye Center) to be one of the premier ophthalmology practices in the DFW Metroplex. Dr. Ford has assembled a team of doctors over the past 15 years that also have the same commitment, compassion, and expertise as he does.
Dr. Ford was the first surgeon in Tarrant County to perform the ReStor Advanced Technology Implant Cataract Surgery in 2005 and has since become one of the leaders of Laser Cataract Surgery in the DFW Metroplex. Dr. Ford has performed over 20,000 surgical procedures, and through his surgical expertise and meticulous attention to detail, he customizes each surgery to achieve the best possible vision for the patient according to their visual needs and goals.
In his free time, Dr. Ford enjoys spending time with his family and when time allows, loves fly fishing, golf, and spending time at his kids’ sporting events and lately, a passion for working out just to keep up with his 3 children.
