Optometrist

Dr. Mark Welding has worked and trained under some of the country’s premier refractive and cataract surgeons. He has also served as the Clinical and Executive Director for the largest provider of laser vision correction in the United States and Canada.
With a wealth of knowledge and experience in primary eye care and laser vision correction, Dr. Welding is able to utilize his experience to provide pre-and post-operative care and primary eye care. He is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Mark Welding is a native of Iowa and a graduate of Iowa State University and the University of Houston School of Optometry. He likes all sports, especially golf, and enjoys spending time with his family; his wife, Stephanie, and his 3 stepchildren, Courtney, Cassidy, and Zack.

Dr. Welding is an active leader in the community, serving on numerous boards and committees. These include current member and past board member of Flower Mound Rotary Club; Paul Harris Fellow award recipient; past board member of the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors of New Horizon Foster Ranch; Board Chairman of the LISD Student Health Advisory Council; and regular contributor to the children’s vision screening programs of area Lions Clubs.

In addition, Dr. Welding was the founder of the Christian Community Action Eye Clinic and provides free services through this program.
